Chipping

Chipping General approach The wood raw material must be chipped into small enough pieces to allow water, chemicals and heat to penetrate quickly and uniformly during the pulping process. Uniform penetration is important in individual chips as well as in the entire mass of chips. Figure 1 shows an example of a wood chip.
