Intelligent optimisation Intelligent optimisation here concerns with population-based heuristic or metaheuristic methods that imitate Nature’s way of solving optimisation problems. Sometimes we speak of Nature Inspired optimisation. This means a multitude of methods that start from a candidate solution or solutions – often randomly selected – and use some search method to improve the solution
