Quality control in continuous digester Although pulp quality is a large and complicated topic, this discussion covers only the Kappa number. Traditionally, the Kappa number is the controllable quality variable of blow-line pulp and it is monitored using laboratory analyses. Automatic, continuous (bur sample-taking) on-line Kappa measurements have been increasing in numbers. Two main approaches
